Celebrating 250 years of U.S.A. and 20 years of Señor Sangria!

There are so many fun things to celebrate in July, from the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence to the 20th anniversary of the founding of Señor Sangria, and we’re in the thick of World Cup soccer games. The weather’s been great, so let’s take our celebrations outside! Keep reading for the Señor Sangria guide to July celebrations.

20th Anniversary of founding of Señor Sangria.
On July 26, 2006 a small but mighty company named Señor Sangria came into existence. The brainstorm of a late night filled with big ideas and a lot of naivety; we embarked on an incredible entrepreneurial journey. Embolden with the dream of sharing the sangria we made at home with the world so they too could partake in and recreate that sangria feeling. We wanted a product that helps create an occasion to bring people together. To enjoy time with friends and family, to share a meal and a glass of sangria and to create that sangria feeling. It has always been about more than just sangria.

Señor Sangria was founded in 2006, it took 3 years of research and development to moment the first bottle of Señor Sangria Classic Red rolled off the bottling line on March 20, 2009.  We expanded and added Classic White, there was an “adult Juice box” version of  Apple Raspberry that we re-introduced in a bottle and spiked it with Brandy. The most recent addition to the Señor Sangria family are the canned Red and White Sangria Spritz. Through it all we have kept our commitment to using natural ingredients and premium wines.

We’ve sold over 6 million bottles of sangria, yet we still feel like we’re just getting started! We continue to face challenges, but we know that we are not alone and we can’t thank you enough for being part of this journey with us, none of it would be possible without you!

Cheers to another 20 years!

July Cocktails

Here’s what we’re drinking this month: In honor of the USA and its deep Bourbon distilling roots, we created a Stars and Stripes sangria cocktail. Our Hugo Spritz Sangria cocktail celebrates its European roots using Elderflower liqueur and mint leaves that complement beautifully with Classic White Mango.

Stars & Stripes Sangria:
4 oz Classic Red Sangria
1 oz Bourbon
2 orange slices
Muddle one orange slice with bourbon, then add sangria and ice, and garnish with an orange slice.

Hugo Spritz Sangria:
4 oz Classic White Sangria
1 oz Elderflower liqueur
1 oz seltzer
4 mint leaves
Muddle three mint leaves with elderflower liqueur, add sangria and ice, then top with seltzer. Garnish with a mint leaf.
